For years, many coastal cities have built seawalls to protect against erosion and flooding, transforming natural salt marshes and mudflats into concrete barriers. Remarkably, after almost two years, these panels are already thriving ecosystems. They've become home to a vibrant array of seaweed, mussels, oysters, snails, and various fish species.
