SpaceX SI unveils new X Subscription. What's in the AI mega-plan?
SpaceX Super Intelligence (SpaceXSI) has introduced "The X Subscription," a new plan designed to consolidate its various AI and platform offerings. This comprehensive bundle combines access to Grok, Grok Bot, Cursor's coding agents, and X Premium under a single subscription. The move simplifies access to advanced AI tools and content, offering different tiers to suit various user needs. It also follows the company's recent rebranding from SpaceXAI to SpaceXSI, signaling a broader strategic vision for its artificial intelligence ecosystem.
SpaceX Super Intelligence's new "The X Subscription" offers a streamlined way to access its suite of services, ranging from a free tier to the top-level Ultra plan at $200 per month. The free option includes daily Grok access and a starter allowance for Cursor, while paid tiers like Plus ($8/month), Premium ($30/month), Super ($100/month), and Ultra provide progressively more usage. For example, the Premium plan delivers 4 times the usage of Plus, and Ultra offers 50 times.
The $30 Premium tier stands out, bringing together benefits previously found in SuperGrok, Cursor Pro, and X Premium+, which combined would have cost $90 monthly. This tier also includes Grok Bot, an intelligent agent capable of handling everyday tasks like ordering food or managing your calendar. This consolidation offers significant value for users seeking a powerful, integrated AI experience.
A key strategic move behind this bundle involves Cursor, the coding company SpaceX exercised its option to buy the company for $60 billion in August. Shortly after the acquisition, OpenAI announced it would no longer provide Cursor with access to its models on November 12. By integrating Cursor usage directly with Grok, SpaceXSI aims to guide developers towards its own AI models, fostering a self-sufficient ecosystem.
For Tesla owners, the integration of Grok Bot into vehicles is a significant development. While previously limited to high-tier subscribers, Grok Bot is now enabled across every Cybercab and the rest of the Model Y Robotaxi fleet. The big question for current Tesla owners is whether the new $30 Premium subscription will now cover in-car Grok Bot access for their personal vehicles, a detail that SpaceXSI and Tesla have yet to clarify. This unified offering reflects the company's ongoing evolution, including its recent name change from SpaceXAI to SpaceXSI, signifying a new chapter in its ambitious AI journey.
Existing subscribers to older plans don't have to switch immediately, but the option to move to The X Subscription will gradually become available, with a prorated refund for any unused time on their old plans. This new subscription is rolling out globally, making these advanced AI and platform services more accessible to a wider audience.
